Biography

Dr. Jain provides the full range of treatment options for the back and neck, including the latest minimally invasive surgical procedures. One of them is Intracept, a motion-preserving procedure developed to treat low back pain. During this procedure, Dr. Jain identifies the specific nerve causing the pain, then uses radio waves to temporarily turn off that nerve’s pain signal for long-term relief.

Intracept is one example of the leading-edge care Dr. Jain brings to DISC. His interest in research began at Stanford University, in Palo Alto, where he received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with departmental honors. He continued his training at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, and received a distinction in research along with his medical degree. After completing orthopedic surgery residency training at UC Irvine Medical Center, Dr. Jain went to the University of Southern California Spine Center. There, he was completed a combined orthopedic and neurosurgical spine surgery fellowship with a focus on both nonsurgical and surgical treatment options for adult back and neck conditions.

Dr. Jain remains involved in clinical research into the development of new technologies for better spine care. The results of his work have been published in more than 20 peer-reviewed medical journals and textbooks. Recently, Global Spine Journal chose his paper about COVID-19 and spine surgery as “Best Paper 2020.” He has been invited to speak at scientific meetings and faculties across the globe. Additionally, Dr. Jain is an active member of multiple professional societies, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, AO Spine and the North American Spine Society.

Like his patients, Dr. Jain enjoys spending time outdoors. His hobbies include golf, travel and snowboarding. He also likes walks along the beach with his wife, oculoplastic surgeon Amy Jain, M.D., and their son.
