Dr. Chavakula is a board-certified neurosurgeon with expertise in movement disorders and functional neurosurgery, including Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and MR-guided Focused Ultrasound—making him the only neurosurgeon performing the latter in San Diego County. A graduate of Caltech with honors in Electrical Engineering and Biology, he earned his medical degree cum laude from Harvard Medical School and completed his neurosurgery residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard in 2020. Dr. Chavakula is an active member of leading neurosurgical organizations and focuses on understanding the neural basis of three-dimensional motion and robotic prosthetic limb control.
